Waiting for the sun!

Dear Friends,

The weather continues to pose problems for the garden and the field work. Spring has been cool and wet here as in other parts of Canada and growth is approximately 2-3 weeks behind. Warm weather after Easter provided us with an unexpected water course flowing along the back property line and as the water table came up, low spots in the field and garden filled with water. This is gradually drying up and Jen did manage to get all of her onions and brassicas in the ground last week with the help of friends from Golden Ears. The tomatoes have been transplanted into the greenhouse and progress is being made ever so slowly.

The pigs thought that all of this water was wonderful and are enjoying their backyard pool for as long as they can ...

It is also great weather for the rhubarb and dealing with that prolific growth is my next task ...
